The hard work is all done, it's now just a question of a few easy training sessions to keep the body fresh and injury free. After a tough race in Ibiza due to a weak paddle, my tactics have changed a little for this race. The Europeans will be run in a slightly different order, being swim / bike / paddle / run. I'm hoping to be very near to the front from the start of the race.
Last week I swam a PB for 1500m, so I know it's quite possible that I could be first out of the water! My biking is always solid, so I've no worries there. So it's really about the paddle again? Since Ibiza I've been out in the kayak most days, and have put in a lot of work on balance and technique, let's hope it's enough to keep the leaders within my grasp when it comes down to that final leg, the 10km run. It's all to play for in just a few days time.
OK Europe, let's see what ya got!!!
