All in my head....

Sometimes it takes other people to remind you whats going on....

Come on Macca just get on with it!

Take this guy for example; aside from being a good friend for many years, he is my training partner on the bike. He stands as a constant reminder to me of what is achievable with some hard work and the right mental attitude! The picture was taken 5years ago when he had being cycling for only 6months..............

Here he is again! These days, he is half the size and twice the man. Now having raced not only to the highest possible level in the UK, but also in France. He is living prof of what can be done when you put your mind to it.

This little monkey reminds me on a daily basis, that its OK to go everywhere at full speed and attack everything with all you have, just so long as you get enough rest too! little naps in the afternoon after an active morning, mean you can keep going right up until its bed time.

This weeks news, is next weeks chip paper!

And I guess that's the reason behind this post. 10days or so ago, I crashed during a mountainbike race, a race that Ive long since forgotten the importance and details of. But the crash, lives on. I suffered a neck injury from the crash and its prevented me from the training I had planned during the last week or so and the knock on from that is I'm now mentally injured too....
That's why I showed you these two people? They are both so very similar in lots of ways. Not only as they are close to me but also as, no matter whats going on around them, they go after what they want and do everything they can to get it. (last night one of them was even talking about going as far as the moon!)They both understand how important my racing is to me and know I'm not myself when things are going badly.(the other one said today,a couple of weeks off or easy might seem like the end of the world now, but next week it will be all forgotten)

So for now, its train as I can, keep a positive mental attitude and don't have too much sugar before bed time or I wont get the recovery!!!
