I don't mind the mud, but I could do without the mayhem this time:

After my puncture problems at the Tuffman the other week, I'm off to Thetford Forest on Sunday to open my season properly

The Mud and Mayhem off road duathlon, organised by Go Beyond Ultra is set deep within the Thetford forest and looks to be a great event.
The testing 5km run 20km bike and 5km run distances are ideal for providing me with the test I need before my session really kicks into gear next month. From the maps the run course looks fast and takes place on firm tracks, so I'm hoping to be setting a good pace. Although Thetford is quite a flat area, the event organisers had the help of my great friend and nemesis Sam Gardner in designing a real bikers course, for that part of the race. "undulating narrow trails and bomb hole craters will give the course a real technical feel, as well as some wider sections to offer some good overtaking opportunities" is the word on the street! It a real shame Sam won't be there to see it happen, the over taking that is. But due to a hectic shedual of 9 events in 11 weeks Sam's going to miss this one out. So the competition will have to come from else where, possibly the likes of off road duathlon mad man Jim McConnel or Mr Mud Face himself Paul Davis (pictured here)We will have to wait until Sunday to find out who will be lined up at 11am...

Well thanks to the Guys at Multisport Distribution and VOtwo I will be easy to spot on the start line, as it will be my first outing in the new VOtwo custom branded Fusion multisport racing suit. Also as part of VOtwo's elite multisport racing team, we all receive support from American sports nutrition company Clif Bar and
muc-off, so disbite the mud and mayhem, I will be full of energy and continue to have a super clean and smooth running bike throughout the race.
Thanks guys..............
