Since our arrivel in Ibiza on Thursday morning it's been change after change!
When we arrived, the weather was overcast and very British - just what I had been training for! Since then we have had tropical storms and torrential rain, topped off yesterday with skin burning sun. We met the race organisor on Thursday night along with some of the other Europeans, and he was already talking about changes to the course and timings. Since then, it has gone from a 6 lap bike section and 2 lap run, to a 6-7 lap(?) bike (to be decided by vote at the race meeting this evening) and a 5 x 2km lap run.
The swim will definately be a 2 lap affair, with a water exit and re-entry half way through especially for spectators!! The picture above shows the start/finish area (a beautiful little cove set in the municipal of St Josep). The kayaks for the race have now arrived too, and look super tippy!!
My training has gone well since getting here, and I'm truly feeling in the shape of my life. With the race start now brought back to 8am on Sunday, in 24 hrs time, if all goes to plan, I will be leading the 2009 Quadrathlon World Cup!
I would like to thank Inov8, Buff, Craig Twigg, and my girlfriend Suze for their support in leading me up to this event, all in helping me chase my dream!
