The Start list is hotting up.

With 4 days to go, the start list for Powerman Luxembourg is looking a bit like a who's who of European Powerman Winners, and "up and coming" stars!

The race favourite has to be Wim Nieuwkerk of the Netherlands. The 28 year old has a string of top 5 Powerman finishes over the last few years, recently finished 4th at the European Long distance duathlon championships and is currently in arguably the shape of his life. With a sub 31minute 10km P.B, and a 68minute half marathon already under his belt, he will certainly take some chasing on the first 10km run section this Sunday.

I shall be leaving on Friday morning with my friend and fellow athlete Kieran Bailey to take on the mammoth 500mile drive across France and Belgium into Luxembourg. With the race not starting until 12.30 on Sunday, we should arrive in plenty of time to check out both the run and bike courses, and make any final choices over what gears to use, and which pair of Inov8's to race in! The last weeks training has gone well, during both big bike-run or "brick sessions" I felt in total control, and am producing a higher wattage than ever on the bike. This evening I'm going to do a local 10mile time trial event on the bike as a final hard blast. . . Lets just hope the rain holds off!
