Welcome to this, the first post on my new blog.

So far this year I've managed to stay injury free and healthy through what has been called the harshest winter in 18years....

Preparations for the 2009 season have been going very well over the last 2 months and my coach Craig (http://www.wavefitness.co.uk/) has been pleased with my progression into full time training.

Monday pm : 40min Easy run

Tuesday am : 60min Tempo Kayak session followed by 60min tempo run
Tuesday pm : 90min weights/core

Wednesday am : 3hr Ride inc' strength work, followed by 40min tempo run
Wednesday pm : Rest

Thursday am : 60min Power kayak session
Thursday pm : session one = run speed work being 20x400m
Thursday pm : session two = 3km swim (tempo)

Friday am : 60min easy run
Friday noon : 5km strength swim
Friday pm : 90min weights/core

Saturday am : 3hrs Steady ride
Saturday pm : 2hrs Kayak tech' and endurance

Sunday : Local Race (low key as training), or a 90min Run Hillwork (am) and 3hr easy ride (pm)

I shall be over in lanzarote at the beginning of March for a weeks warm weather training. The plan is to do a final week of overload before returning to the UK and entering some early season races, then tapering down for the first big race of the year, World Cup Rd1 May 2nd - Ibiza.......
