In search of blue skies and strong winds:

The pic on the right was taken during the final run section of the 2nd Wardenhoe Winter Quadrathlon last month. Environmental issues with the river saw yesterdays final event cancelled. This left competitors to count their best 2 positions in the series towards an overall ranking.

In round one, I won, narrowly beating Joe Andrews (who's the current British Quadrathlon Series champion and World No.6) in a sprint finish after a race long battle. In round two, I went flat out from the gun and took the race apart, winning with a margin of almost 10minutes. These two results have sealed the series for me, so a nice start to my 2009 season.

The last couple of weeks have gone well, I had a good swim session on Friday with a main set of 60x50m, knocking the fast ones out in 36seconds (my target of 20minutes for the opening leg of World cup is looking achievable). I've done a couple of local 10k road races, again getting close to being in shape for running 33min off the bike.

This time next week I will be in Lanzarote with my coach and good friend "International Ironman and current British Long Distance Triathlon Bronze Medalist" Craig Twigg. Lanzarote is the perfect place for our final preparations before the season. Known for its big hills, strong winds and sun, we are planning a painful 7 day camp.

Camp to include: 1000km of cycling, 6 sessions of open water (sea) swimming, 100km of running.

Tanned up pictures to follow!!!

Take it easy for now
