The British Cross Champs who's who.......

So after sorting myself out and getting into some decent form at last, my attention now has to turn to the competition, these are the top guys I will be watching out for and trying to stay in front of this Saturday:

1, Sammy "Geeeeeeeeeee" Gardner, The UK's number one Xterra athlete for many years, is a sure footed runner and solid swimmer, with a World Cup level mountainbiking background strong enough to tame even the toughest of courses.
2,Graham Wadsworth, Our answer to handsome Dan Hugo, but don't let the boyish good looks fool you, this guy is nails hard and takes no prisoners once the gun go's on race day. Improving every race, he really is one to watch in 2010.
3, Cedric Lassonde, With a cat weasel look and night club DJ job, you could be easily fooled into thinking this guys not serious. But a 3.46 1500meter track PB and sub 20min swim splits soon make you think other wise. Now a bike from this decade he is really looking the part and hoping to hold on to his front placing out of the water.
4, Llewellyn Holmes, Mistaken for thinking this homey from the beach is nothing more than blonde locks and someone with far to many L's in his name? Beware, with a strong surf background suited to rough and cold water and an insane amount of bike handling skills and nerve when thing get extreme, you wouldn't want to have to bet against him if he is leading into the final decent.
5, Jim McConnel, the old man of Xterra, having forgotten more about racing xterra than the rest of us will ever know, this Harry Hill lookalike is anything but a funnyman on a bike. 2008 saw his clock one of the fastest runs of the day at the World championships, showing when he's on form he really is one to watch.

Also, there will be competition coming from outsiders like Doug "the fish" Hall, Super biker and rock hard abs man Pete Hawkins, as well as the white Kenyon himself, feather weight endurance biker Iain Letch. With so many of the UK best all up for getting there name on the trophy for the first year its been held, this National championships is going to be anything but predictable................
