The race in pictures:
After a few hrs of begging steeling and borrowing bike parts, my focus began to look up to the job ahead and hid its true training bike roots well...
After swimming a personal best for the half mile, I exited the lake in 3rd. However I had a little trouble getting out of my wet suit. (Sadly most of my minutes lead on the main pack was lost as I did my best Harold Houdini impression through transition)
Finally it was time to get on the bike and try to lay some power down on the flat and fast 23km course. (The suit would be finding its way onto ebay later in the day)
The bike went by quickly, unawear of my postion in the field I set out on the run like a man posessed. News came, that i was in 2nd and just over 2mins back...
Disbite having the fastest run for the day, I couldnt quite bridge the gap to the leader and crossed the line a clear second.

With my final hard test done before next weekends Eurpoean Cross Champs, Im feeling in a very positive mood. I know that both my swim and run fitness are finally there. With 2 other top guys making up the GB Elite mens team, we stand a very good chance of a medal.
