Not exactly perfect conditions for Xterra training or is it?
The current weather is the main topic of conversation so far this year, "too cold to snow", "treacherous conditions on roads", and my favorite: "severe weather warning!"
Well its saving me a fortune... In the past Ive had to pay through the nose to get to country's where, you experience a wind chill -25 on a ski lift or get to camp out in the snow and test what your top notch down bag can really do. But thanks to this
current climate Ive now got it all for free on my door step...
OK joking aside, its not a big deal really. Only for the cycling part of my training have i had to make some real changes. Lots of hours on the turbo trainer in the garage. The trails are very quite and its a good time to ride if the snow isn't to deep.
After all they do it in other country's!
Swimming has continued as per, due to the local pools being open. Stretch cords are at the ready just in case of a no pool emergency.....
But its the trail running that has really been the most fun. Theres something really magical about leaving a fresh set of prints across a hill or through the woods, its akin to that a snowboarder leaves during there first run on the mountain...
